The Palazzo di Città located in Piazza Castello, at the end of Corso Vittorio Emanuele II in the ancient village of Taranto
The Town Hall of Taranto, located in Piazza Castello, at the end of Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, in the heart of the ancient village of the city. Square that houses the Palazzo di Città, the Columns of the Doric Temple and the entrance to the Aragonese Castle. Next to the columns is the access to Via Duomo, historical road that probably dates back to the Greek period and which today represents one of the main arteries of the Old City. The Town Palace, built between 1864 and 1869, is located in the area that in the sixteenth century housed the "Casa del Capitano," a fortified structure that served as a residence for the military governor.
