Colossus of Barletta, Heraclius

A huge bronze statue depicting the emperor Theodosius II made in the Byzantine era in 400 AD in Ravenna. It is said that it was either the Venetians who abandoned it in Barletta or that it was found in Ravenna during some excavations in 1231 and that it was transported to Barletta by Frederick II.
